Indian Subcontinent Academic Scholarships is offered for Master’s degree in the field of Courses offered by the university. St. Lawrence College is a College of Applied Arts and Technology which consist of three campuses in Eastern Ontario, namely Brockville established in 1970, Cornwall established in 1968 and Kingston established in September 1969.

Before the 1960s, only institutes of technology and vocational centers co-existed with universities in the province of Ontario at the post-secondary level, and most of those schools were founded mainly to assist experts reassemble into society in the post-war years.

However, in response to an increasing need for technical education, Minister of Education (later Premier) William Davis, recognized now as the ‘Father of the Ontario College System’, founded Ontario’s colleges of applied arts and technology to train individuals for employment in their individual communities.

St. Lawrence College was established in 1967 as part of the province’s initiative to establish many such institutions. These schools were created to provide career-oriented diploma and certificate courses, as well as furthering education programs in the communities in which they are based.

Brockville was mainly proposed as the site for the main campus of St. Lawrence College, but Kingston was basically selected, since its larger population base would allow it to support a full campus. For the site, a 59-acre (24 ha) piece of farmland was bought from the Ontario Psychiatric Hospital (now operated by Providence Continuing Care Centre) situated at King St. W. and Portsmouth Ave.

Brockville would maintain a smaller campus, while the Cornwall and Kingston campuses were created to serve six counties in Eastern Ontario namely Frontenac, Grenville, Leeds, Dundas, Stormont and Glengary).

However, some of the earliest full-time courses offered included such programs as Business Administration, Early Childhood Education, Home Economics, Engineering Technology, and Electronics Technician. About 89 programs are presently offered.

St. Lawrence College has about 6,700 full-time students and 20,000 part-time turnouts in 89 academic programs and employs 829 full- and part-time staff; this includes 414 faculty. The College has received approval to offer Baccalaureate Degree programs in Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) (in partnership with Laurentian University), Bachelor of Business Administration (in partnership with Laurentian University) and Honors Bachelor of Behavioural Psychology.

Worth of Indian Subcontinent Academic Scholarships

All successful candidates of the Indian Subcontinent Academic Scholarships will receive about $2,000 CAD partial funding applied to the candidate’s student account and redeemable towards the 2nd semester’s tuition fees.

Eligibility for Indian Subcontinent Academic Scholarships

  • To be qualified for Indian Subcontinent Academic Scholarships, you must be international students.
  • You must be a citizen of one of the qualified countries: Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka to be eligible for Indian Subcontinent Academic Scholarships.
  • Each candidate must have accepted into an academic program at St. Lawrence College to be qualified for the scholarship.
