Chevening Awards at QMUL in UK 2022

The Queen Mary University of London is providing the Chevening Awards scholarship opportunity to interested applicants who are passionate about pursuing a degree program at the Institution.

The Queen Mary University of London works closely with the Chevening – the UK government’s foreign scheme targeted at developing global leaders – to offer a large number of full scholarship awards for study on their one-year Master’s programs.

Each year, they host a large group of the 2500 Chevening Scholars who come to study at schools all over the United Kingdom. Generally, they welcome about 60 scholars every year but there is no limit on this number.

Their Chevening Awards Scholars play an active role in their animated and diverse student community and are welcome to attend their yearly International Scholars Reception, and also a range of other scholarship events all through the year. Chevening publishes lots of useful tips and videos to help you with your application on their Facebook page. 

All Chevening awards provide full foreign tuition fees and also provides an allowance for living expenses, airfares, and a variety of other costs.

Worth of Chevening Awards at QMUL

Chevening Awards are obtainable to students from almost all nationalities except those from the EU or United States. All Chevening awards provide complete overseas tuition fees, and also provides a stipend for living expenses, airfares, and a variety of other expenditures.

Chevening Scholars also gain from a yearlong program of events helping you have a feel of the best of British culture and to make the most of your time in the United Kingdom.

Eligibility for Chevening Awards at Queen Mary University of London

To be qualified for a Chevening Scholarship award, you have to:

  • Be a national of a Chevening-eligible nation or territory.
  • Go back to your nation of citizenship for at least two years after your scholarship award has ended.
  • Have finished all components of an undergraduate degree program that will allow you to gain entry onto a postgraduate degree program at a UK university by the time you forward your application. This is usually equivalent to an upper second-class 2:1 honors degree program in the UK but may be different based on your program and choice of university.
  • Possess a minimum of two years (equivalent to 2,800 hours) of work experience.
  • Submit an application to three different eligible UK university programs and have obtained an unconditional offer from one of these choices by 15 July 2022.

How to Apply for Chevening Awards at Queen Mary University of London

Applications for all scholarship awards have to be made straight to the Chevening: full information on how to apply are obtainable on Chevening’s web pages. Application for September 2022 entry is available now on https://www.chevening.org/apply/

All 12-month full-time Masters programs are qualified for this scholarship award. Those commencing in January or lasting more than 12 months are not qualified. Online programs are not eligible.

Applicants should also apply for their chosen Masters program at QMUL through our online portal in the normal way.

Candidates are encouraged to apply to Queen Mary before February to ensure that their application can be processed in a time to meet Chevening’s deadline for the confirmation of their unconditional university offer in July 2022.
